A glimpse into college life | Queens College
By Amanda Draper
Introduce yourself: What's your major and year? Where are you from?
Hi, my name is Kiana Cheng and I am a freshman majoring in Psychology at Queens College - The City University of New York (CUNY). I am from Queens, NY.
What extracurriculars are you involved in and what are your hobbies/interests?
I am involved in a sorority called Delta Phi Epsilon. We host fundraisers to raise money for our philanthropies. Being in a sorority or any type of extracurricular is a good way to meet new people and get involved. On my free time I like to shop, watch Netflix, and just hang out with friends.
Do you have any advice for high schoolers?
My advice for high schoolers is that you should apply for financial aid and scholarships, whether you think you’ll get any or not because you never know. Also, when you go to college, it’s a good idea to make at least one friend in each class, so if you’re absent for some reason, you have someone to call or text to ask what went on during class.
What's the best class you've taken so far at your college and why?
The best class I’ve taken so far is Psychology 101 because I find it interesting to learn about the human mind.
What do you hope to do after you graduate?
After I graduate, I hope to have a successful career but I’m not sure what it is yet.*
